The College of Computers and Information pays great attention to its students from the moment they register in the college until the moment they graduate and obtain their academic degrees. During the university study period, the college seeks to provide everything necessary to prepare and qualify the student to engage in practical life and assume various professional positions that enable him to play an important role in building society. Given the presence of a number of annual graduates who leave university life and leave the college with their certificates heading to civil society institutions (local - Arab - foreign) in search of a future career, the college administration has been interested in establishing a unit to follow up on graduates and employ them. This is due to its keenness to follow up on its graduates by qualifying them and helping them as much as possible in obtaining jobs that suit their academic qualifications and abilities, and to maintain contact with them even after they leave the college. Because the college realizes the importance of these graduate students, whom it considers to be its ambassadors representing it in their places of residence, it has seen the necessity of giving these students great attention to follow up on them and knowing their places of work by contacting many institutions, ministries of labor, the public and private sectors, and government agencies by introducing them and doing everything available to provide the largest number of job opportunities for them. To reduce the unemployment rate suffered by graduates, and by establishing a graduate follow-up unit, the College of Computers and Information is fully prepared to assist graduates as well as various community organizations that need the college’s various specializations.

The Graduate Follow-up Unit at the Faculty of Computers and Information, Helwan University, aspires to:

Be one of the distinguished units in the field of serving and following up graduates, continuous communication with the college graduates, and helping them join the labor market, meeting the needs of the labor market in terms of quantity and quality, and strengthening the connection with the college after graduation, while promoting the values ​​of excellence and competitiveness for them in all areas of specialization in the college.

Mission

The Graduates Follow-up Unit at the Faculty of Computers and Information, Helwan University, seeks to:

Support the college graduates in order to achieve the college's mission and strategic goals, and work to continuously improve their performance, raise their competencies, develop their capabilities, create channels for continuous communication with them, and follow up on their performance, through the services it provides to students, in addition to the programs, training courses, workshops, and various activities that enable them to adapt to the requirements and continuous changes of the labor market.

Goals

Objectives of the Graduate Follow-up Unit:
The Graduate Follow-up Unit seeks to communicate effectively with the college graduates to achieve the following objectives:

  • Building an electronic information system through:

Building databases for graduates.

Building databases for companies and institutions, and helping companies and institutions looking for employees to reach college graduates easily and conveniently.

 

  • Providing career guidance services to graduates through:

Coordinating between the college and various educational bodies and institutions (public and private) and companies looking for employees), and helping them to reach college graduates easily and conveniently and choose the appropriate graduate.
Providing good job opportunities for graduates through appropriate marketing for them, advertising the required jobs, and receiving applications from companies wishing to employ them.

 

  • Achieving professional development for graduates through:

Identifying the various training needs of graduates, and developing appropriate programs to develop their skills in line with their personal needs, and the needs of the changing and continuous labor market, and following up on them continuously.
Continuously providing graduates with new knowledge in their fields and specializations to develop their scientific and professional level and skills, to reduce the gap between theory (what they learned in college) and application (what they practice in the labor market).

  • Following up on the external efficiency of graduates through:

Communicating with the entities and institutions where graduates work and surveying their opinions about the extent of their competencies and level of performance and identifying performance gaps and benefiting from them when developing future plans for the college.
Conducting follow-up studies for graduates and identifying the most important professional problems they face (especially with regard to problems of searching for job opportunities and problems of working for the first time - etc.) and trying to help them solve them.
Following up on the job status of graduates in terms of the suitability of the nature of the job to the specializations available in the college, and their career paths.
Involving graduates in the process of developing programs and curricula when developing future plans for the college.
